Somini Sengupta is currently the international climate correspondent for The New York Times. She has reported from a Himalayan glacier, a Congo River ferry, the streets of Baghdad and Mumbai and many places in between. She has covered 10 conflicts, from Sri Lanka to Syria, and is the recipient of a George Polk Award for foreign correspondence. Her first book, The End of Karma: Hope and Fury among India's Young, was published by W.W. Norton in 2016.
