Erin Helfert Moësse
Bio:
Erin Helfert Moësse is an internationally recognized advocate for girls and women’s empowerment who speaks and works globally on issues of Gender, Gender-based Violence, and Gender Equality and Girls’ and Women’s Empowerment. As part of a coalition, her advocacy played an integral role in forming a U.S. Department of Justice program that aims to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. Her work has been highlighted in numerous popular and government publications including Al Jazeera, Cosmopolitan magazine, WMC Live with Robin Morgan, and the November 2013 US Department of Justice publication on Global victimization.
Since 2002, Erin has worked in the international affairs arena, contributing to major-donor and MNC-funded projects, including those with USAID, the UN, and the EU throughout the MENA region, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. Erin is currently the Head of Office and UN Representative at the Plan International’s NYC-based UN Liaison Office, and a Policy and Advocacy Advisor to the Dutch Government-funded “Girls Advocacy Alliance” program, where she oversees work in ten countries throughout Africa and Asia. Prior to Plan International, Erin worked as a Senior Advisor at UN Women, in the Office of the Under-Secretary General.
Erin holds a Masters (US) in International Relations and Development, and a Master II (French) in International Trade and Development. She currently resides in New York City.
