Bio:
Ayesha Ahmed is a lecturer in Medical Ethics and Law at St George’s University of London, and honorary lecturer at the Institute for Global Health at UCL. She specialises in culture, mental health and trauma, focusing on humanitarian responses to gender-based violence in conflict working in Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Africa and the Middle East.
Many international donors want to invest in Afghan women’s economic potential. But the country needs to transform its entire gender infrastructure to really change women’s lives, writes Ayesha Ahmad.
