Bio

Audrey Young is the Washington National Tax Director for McGladrey, LLP. She has been an estates and trusts and tax attorney for 14 years. Audrey concentrates her tax expertise in the areas of estates and trusts and gifts and individual income tax issues. She has published articles on estate planning and speaks on estate planning, probate and tax issues around the country.

Audrey is an expert on tax policy and procedure and has participated in many tax institutes and conferences. In 2014, she was cited as an expert in the Supreme Court case, Clark v. Rameker, (13-299), a case concerning IRAs and retirement planning and trusts,

Prior to joining McGladrey last year, she practiced law at various firms in the Chicago area during her twenty-year career, including Horwood, Marcus & Berk and Kattan, Muchin & Rosenmann, where she was a litigator and appellate specialist. She worked as a reporter trainee in the Business Day Section of the New York Times before commencing her legal career. In 2012, she published her first novel, The Trust Protector.

Audrey a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. She is a certified mediator and mediates for the Cook County Chancery Court. She received her Masters in Taxation from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1998. She is a graduate of Northwestern Law School and Duke University, where she double majored in Public Policy Studies and Economics. Audrey and her husband have four children.
