Lani Diane Rich is a New York Times bestselling author, a story expert, and an award-winning podcaster. Since 2007, she has co-hosted and produced over a thousand hours of commentary, analysis and educational material on stories and storytelling, providing narrative and cultural critique to properties such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Outlander, Neil Gaiman's Sandman series, The West Wing, and many more.

Lani has published 12 novels with Hachette, St. Martin’s Press, and Penguin, and has taught storytelling, screenwriting and television production at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Her book, "How Story Works: An Elegant Guide to the Craft of Storytelling" lays out her narrative theory, useable by fiction writers and culture critics, applicable to any form or genre.
