Peggy-Anne Hupcey Director of Development
Peggy-Anne Hupcey, The Director of Development brings her devotion to the feminist movement and progressive causes to The Women’s Media Center. Her fund development, program administration, and leadership skills will build a sustainable and dynamic fundraising platform to propel the voices of women and girls to a new level.
Peggy previously led national and grass-roots philanthropy, program development, direct service, volunteer engagement, and strategic planning for a myriad of social change organizations. Peggy served as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for the Girl Scouts of the USA national office, where she was instrumental in designing their fund strategy for major donors. As Director of National Hunger Clearinghouse at World Hunger Year/WhyHunger, Peggy created the “800” National Hunger Hotline and an online community of hunger and poverty organizations.
In Colorado, Peggy was the Executive Director of the Energy Resource Center of the Pikes Peak Region, running alternative energy and environmental programs, President of Nonprofit Consulting, specializing in management and fundraising, a reproductive Health Educator and Medical Assistant at Women’s Health Service Clinic (her favorite position), and a puppeteer and storyteller for the Pikes Peak Regional Library District. She was a columnist for the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph and Sun newspapers.
A native New Yorker, Peggy lived in Colorado for 22 years before moving back to New York, where she presently resides. Peggy enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and gardening on her balcony with a view of Central Park.
Peggy attended New York University and the University of Colorado.
