In honor of Women's History Month we SPOTLIGHT Premilla Nadasen. Premilla Nadasen is an associate professor of history at Barnard College/Columbia University. She researches and writes about gender, race, social policy, and labor history. She is the author of several books on welfare, including the award winning Welfare Warriors: The Welfare Rights Movement in the United States as well as numerous scholarly and popular articles about welfare, domestic work, social movements, and African American women’s history. She has published in the Journal of Policy History, Feminist Studies, Race and Reason, Feminist Formations, Working USA, and Ms. Magazine. Ohter media experience includes CBS and AM radio.
