Tonight President Trump will be giving his first speech to congress and we spotlight Lori Cox Han, PhD. Lori is a Professor of Political Science at Chapman University. Her major area of expertise is American government, with research and teaching interests in the presidency, women and politics, media and politics, and political leadership. In addition, Dr. Han is past president of the Presidency Research Group, an organized section of the American Political Science Association devoted to the study of the presidency. President Trump's budget proposal shows plans to cut funding for government agencies and an increase in military spending. Lisa is a voting rights and campaign finance lawyer who addresses issues of inequality and fairness in elections. She is an expert on implementation of Section 7 of the National Voter Registration Act, has worked cooperatively with and also litigated against states regarding implementation of the National Voter Registration Act, and has engaged in advocacy before Congress and federal executive offices on the issue. With SpaceX announcing it's plans to send two private citizens to the moon in 2018, we FEATURE Sara Camnasio. Sara is a junior astronomy researcher at the American Museum of Natural History, where she is a published researcher studying low-mass stars called brown dwarfs. In 2015 she was awarded the National Geographic Young Explorer Award to pursue her astronomy field research in remote locations around the world and thus to inspire kids about astrophysics. In addition to being a TEDxCUNY speaker, Sara has appeared on the NY1 News channel, on the New York Daily News Newspaper, as well as on StarTalk.com.
