This week WMC SheSource features experts on the FBI investigation on Russia's interference with the previous presidential election, Neil Gorsuch's Supreme Court confirmation, the Brexit process beginning on March 29th, Uber's president leaving the company, and Sesame Street introducing a new autistic character onto the show.
In light of the FBI investigation into President Trump's claims that Obama wiretapped him during the elction as well as the investigation into Russian interference of the election, we SPOTLIGHT Nina L. Khrushcheva. Nina is an professor in the Graduate Program of International Affairs at the New School, where she teaches courses on International Media, Comparative Propaganda, Culture and Capitalism, Film and Empire, and Russia’s Contemporary Politics and History. She is also a senior fellow of the World Policy Institute, where she heads the Russia Projects, which examines the contours of the current national identity of Russians and its impact on Russian politics. Neil Gorsuch's Supreme Court confirmation began this Monday and we FEATURE Fatima Goss Graves. Fatima is Senior Vice President for Program, where she leads the Center's broad program agenda to eliminate barriers in employment, education, health and reproductive rights and lift women and families out of poverty. Prior to being named Senior Vice President, Ms. Goss Graves led the Center's anti-discrimination initiatives, including work to promote equal pay, combat harassment and sexual assault at work and at school, and advance equal access to education programs. She uses a number of advocacy strategies in her work on these issues ranging from public education and legislative advocacy to litigation, including briefs in the Supreme Court and federal courts of appeals. UK Prime Minister Theresa May is beginning formal negotiations to have the UK leave the European Union this March 29th and we FEATURE Sally Painter. Most recently she was a judge for the Cornell (Johnson)Business School Women in Tech Competition, and a Mentor at MentorHerNYC. She also was a Vice President with Robertson Stephens, a San Francisco based investment bank.

Sesame Street is introducing a new character to it's show and it's an autistic character. To discuss, we FEATURE Annie Harris-Meachem. Annie is a dedicated and persistent advocate for women who, for a variety of reasons find themselves living on the margins of society due to the social stigma of their disability or race. Having earned her graduate training at the Pennsylvania State University in 1985, she went on to do to work as a clinician with the chemically dependent. Her work with this population put her in the position to be a member of the management team at the prestigious World Institute on Disability (WID). Her memoir, it’s Easier to Dance –Living Beyond Boundaries, the first book to contain a chronological view of the historical development of the civil rights movement from three different perspectives; as a woman, a minority, one living with a developmental disability.
