After the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Anthony Elonis, the man convicted of posting threatening messages on Facebook, we SPOTLIGHT Soraya Chemaly. She is a feminist writer, media critic and activist who focuses her work on women's rights and the role of gender in politics, religion and pop culture. Additionally, she was one of the primary organizers of a successful social media campaign demanding that Facebook recognize misogynistic content as hate speech.
