Roz Courtney, award-winning leadership consultant, visionary and change agent, collaborates with C-suite executives and teams to drive dynamic impact in their businesses and careers. She has led powerful initiatives for growth and change, uprooted entrenched practices, and built the leadership, capabilities and jobs for success in modern business - producing market-changing opportunities and record increases in revenue, profits and employee engagement.

Roz is president and CEO of LaserBeam Consulting, a strategy and coaching consultancy that works with the Fortune 500 and smaller high-growth companies to get change right - and sustain it, engage top talent, and create the cultures that fuel innovation, transformation and speed. With an international network of leaders in industries ranging from financial services to digital media, she offers a global perspective and cutting-edge insights into strategy, leadership and markets. Previously, she held leadership positions at Citi’s Private Bank, the New York Times Company, Primedia’s Consumer Media Group, and Kraft General Foods.

The recipient of multiple awards and citations, Roz has been recognized by business, government, academic and professional leaders, by Crain’s Workforce Management and by the Corporate Executive Board for innovative yet pragmatic approaches to developing transformative leaders and businesses. At Citibank, her team won the Global Quality Award for innovation, business performance and new measures for success. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York recognized this work as a “best-in-business.”

As founding co-chair of the Wharton Women’s task force, Roz created the strategy for the Wharton School’s Global Women’s Initiative, sponsored by the dean, to advance women leaders in business. She led and moderated Wharton’s Inaugural Women’s Leadership Forum, bringing together top executives from the private sector and government to illuminate “The New Leader: beyond Hierarchy & Power.” In 2005, she became the first woman to receive Wharton’s Alumni Award for Distinguished Service, joining a list of Fortune 500 CEOs and other luminaries.

LaserBeam Consulting conducts ongoing original research that generates bold, new strategies for clients. Roz recently concluded an eight-year study of leaders across industries and continents, including in-depth interviews with C-level women. Her Leadership Innovation model helps leaders see and build on the connection between what they think and do – and the results they achieve. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Roz led a two-year collaboration between business honor students and nationally recognized CEOs. Cited as “a breakthrough in leadership education,” the program identified new ways to build the next generation of leaders and leverage Gen Y talents in management and innovation.

A compelling keynote speaker, Roz leads management forums and working meetings designed to spark innovative strategies and immediate action. Roz earned her MBA at The Wharton School, was a political science fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Penn State. She is a student of iconic companies and trendsetters, an alumna in good standing of The OpEd Project, a member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, and a board member and past co-president of the New York chapter of the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruitment and member of its national board.
