Melissa A. Fabello is the Managing Editor of the award-winning website Everyday Feminism. Dedicated to helping people break down and stand up to oppression through the application of intersectional feminism in their daily lives, Everyday Feminism is the largest independent feminist media site in the world and a resource for accessible information about social justice for an audience of millions.

As a feminist writer and activist with expertise in body image and beauty standards, Melissa has utilized her social media and blogging skills in various pursuits, including extensive work with The National Eating Disorders Association, The Representation Project, Adios Barbie, and Laci Green’s Sex+ community. Her ideas on body politics have been featured in The Guardian, Teen Vogue, and The BBC, among others. She is also featured as an on-screen expert with a large role in the upcoming documentary, Fattitude.

As a doctoral candidate at Widener University’s Center for Sexuality Studies, the only fully accredited program of its kind in the world, Melissa is researching how women with eating disorders make meaning of their experiences with sensuality. She also holds an M.Ed. in Human Sexuality from Widener, having researched how the internalization of social beauty standards affects psychosexual development in adolescent women, as well as a B.S. in English Education from Boston University.

Melissa is a licensed educator with over a decade of experience working with diverse populations, including extensive training in domestic violence and sexual assault prevention education. Her presentations have been given at various universities, organizations, and conferences, including at the Body Image and Self-Esteem Conference put on by the National Eating Disorders Information Centre in Toronto, as well as at Harvard University.
