Bio

Mallory Rutigliano is a sustainability expert based in New York. Mallory is the co-founder of Project Defeat Denial, an initiative aimed at helping connect all people to sustainable solutions for local living and combating corporate greenwashing. Mallory currently works on climate adaptation for the New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget on a team dedicated to environmental sustainability and resiliency.

Before beginning her role in city government, Mallory worked in the field of sustainable finance research for BloombergNEF for several years, writing research and speaking on topics such as global policy, fossil fuel divestment, and green bonds. Mallory also has a background in behavioral health research focused on diverse women and addressing health disparities, alongside the environmental and biological sciences with an emphasis on policy.

Mallory earned her MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and her BA in Biology and Psychology from Dartmouth College. Mallory currently serves as an elected leader on the executive committee for the New York State chapter of the Sierra Club, and volunteers on issues ranging from climate education to sea-level rise.
