Linda Meric is executive director of 9to5, National Association of Working Women, an organization dedicated to engendering economic and social justice and equality in the workplace. Founded more than 30 years ago, 9to5 has emerged as a tireless advocate on behalf of working families, committed to a diverse array of initiatives aimed at ensuring fair compensation, fair policies, and a workplace free of discrimination. 9to5’s mission is to win family-friendly policies to help balance work/life responsibilities; make non-standard jobs voluntary and ensure that part-time workers receive fair pay and benefits; eliminate workplace discrimination through education about legal rights of workers; and opposition to punitive welfare policies that prevent women from becoming self-sufficient.

As executive director, Meric serves as the organization\'s primary spokeswoman on national policies that affect working women and their families. A twenty-year veteran of the labor and community organizing movements, Meric is credited with leading 9to5 in its efforts to achieve numerous policy victories on behalf of working families, most notably on issues pertaining to ending punitive welfare policies, and achieving a living wage. Meric is the founder of 9to5’s Colorado chapter.
