Bio

Jessica Jewell is an energy researcher at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, an independent institution located in Austria. Her research focuses on energy security and energy policy in relation to the challenge of climate change mitigation. She has a PhD in Environmental Sciences Policy from Central European University. Dr. Jewell was a contributing author in the IPCC WGIII fifth assessment report, a lead author in the Global Energy Assessment, and a lead author of a report by the UN Secretary General's Task Force on the Sustainable Energy for All renewables and efficiency targets. Dr. Jewell has published blogs about energy security and nuclear energy on the Conversation and POLET.network, and has given interviews to a number of media outlets in Europe.
