Hannah Jacobs is a founding member of Family Member Inc, a 501c3 organization dedicated to promoting positive portrays of disability along with eradicating hateful speech targeting special needs and disability.

Hannah is the parent of a teenager with an Intellectual Disability and has worked as a parent advocate fighting to eradicate Internet hate speech targeting disability since 2004. Her advocacy work has helped remove many offensive websites, groups and pages from the Internet and has taken her to the White House and the offices of Facebook.

In 2011, Hannah received the Visionary Leadership Award from Resources for Children with Special Needs (now called IncludeNYC) in New York City. She is a former member of the Best Buddies New York Advisory Board and in 2013 received the Community Hero Award at the Best Buddies New York Friendship Walk. Hannah was a 2013 nominee for the Women’s Media Center Social Media award. In 2014 she received the Karen Hansen Caregiver Award at the United Cerebral Palsy Women Who Care luncheon. She has appeared on Fox and Friends morning show and Good Day Street Talk on Fox 5 New York. Hannah is on the Silver Center for Special Needs Advisory Board at the JCC Manhattan and is a member of the ADL Education Committee in New York City.
