Randi Hutter Epstein is a medical author and teacher, whose work explores the intersection of science and society. She is the author of Get Me Out: A History of Childbirth from the Garden of Eden to the Sperm Bank (WWNorton: 2010) and AROUSED: The History of Hormones and How They Control Just About Everything (WWNorton: June, 2018). Dr. Epstein teaches medical writing in the English Department at Yale University where she is also the Writer in Residence at the Program for Humanities in Medicine at Yale Medical School. In addition, she is an adjunct at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Her articles have been published in the New York Times, Slate, among other national publications. She also blogs for Psychology Today. She has been a guest on Fresh Air, All Things Considered, and BBC World Service. She lives in New York City with her husband and has four children.
