Dr Marcil is a pediatrician and social entrepreneur with expertise in innovations to mitigate the impact of poverty on child health. In addition to her clinical practice as a pediatrician at Boston Medical Center and position as an assistant professor at Boston University School of Medicine, she co-leads StreetCred, a nonprofit addressing the health impact of financial stress by providing tax preparation and other fiscal services to low income families in the the doctor’s waiting room. She also has worked extensively in maternal-child health systems improvement in Kenya, Bangladesh, and Namibia. She has published in JAMA Pediatrics and has been interviewed by CBS, WBUR (NPR), PBS, and The Boston Globe. She is a TED Fellow. Dr Marcil has an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPH from Johns Hopkins University.
