Laura Tillman
Bio:
Laura Tillman is a writer and photographer currently living on the Texas-Mexico border. Her reporting in the Rio Grande Valley has covered the nation’s immigration detention centers, women’s health, and education, among other topics. She was a reporter for The Brownsville Herald for three years before becoming a freelance writer. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Nation, and The Wall Street Journal, among other publications. Tillman is currently an MFA candidate in Goucher’s Creative Nonfiction program. Originally from Maplewood, New Jersey, she earned her BA in international studies from Vassar College.
