KC Cole's most recent book is Something Incredibly Wonderful Happens: Frank Oppenheimer and his Astonishing Exploratorium, a memior/biography of her late mentor, the self-proclaimed "uncle" of the atom bomb and a victim of McCarthyism who spent his life working on ways to create a civil society through his "museum of human awareness" in San Francisco.
