Kate Farrar

Bio:

Kate C. Farrar, director of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) Leadership Programs, manages initiatives that ensure women and girls assume leadership roles and acquire the skills they need to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal lives. She is responsible for coordinating programs, including the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders, which brings over 500 college women from across the country to Washington D.C. for two and a half days of skill-building, inspiration, and networking; $tart $mart, which teaches college women entering the job market how to benchmark and negotiate salaries; and Elect Her – Campus Women Win, that trains college women to run for student government.
Prior to arriving in Washington, D.C., Farrar lobbied the Connecticut state legislature on behalf of nonprofit organizations. She also served as a field organizer in Wisconsin for the 2004 Kerry/Edwards Presidential campaign.
