Ashley Monroe

Bio:

Ashley Monroe’s The Blade was released last summer via Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville to overwhelming critical acclaim and a GRAMMY Award nomination for Best Country Album. The follow-up to 2013’s much-admired Like A Rose, which shot to No. 1 on iTunes Country Chart immediately upon release, garnered praise from tastemakers including TIME, Rolling Stone, The New York Times and Billboard. NPR gushed, “The Blade is virtuosic on so many levels, from the wide and deep emotional intelligence of the songwriting to the way it traverses styles, showing her well-cultivated grasp of Glen Campbellesque pop and bluegrass, vanilla pop and serious torch and twang.” Monroe celebrated the album’s release with appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The View and CONAN and a sold-out headlining tour, as well as a recent live-in-studio performance at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis. Monroe also received a second GRAMMY nomination for Country Duo/Group Performance in addition to CMA and ACM nods for her No. 1 duet with Blake Shelton, “Lonely Tonight.”
