April 3, 2013
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Women’s Media Center congratulates Karen Finney on being named weekend host for MSNBC.
“We are delighted that MSNBC has tapped Karen to host her own show,” said Julie Burton, president of the Women’s Media Center. “She is a big talent who brings tremendous intellect, political smarts, and media savvy to every conversation. We congratulate her and MSNBC.”
MSNBC President Griffin announced today that Finney — who served as the first African-American spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee — would host a new afternoon program airing weekends from 4-5 p.m. She has been an MSNBC political analyst and guest host on the network since 2009.
