Media Training Workshops

Learn the most challenging media skill

Women's Media Center amplifies women's voices by advocating for media that represents women as powerful newsmakers, informed experts, and sought-after media professionals. We do this through proactively pitching women to outlets, paying women to creating our own media; and by training women to participate directly in media. WMC works with media to train women as spokespersons on a variety of issues, ensuring that women's stories are told and women's voices are heard. We are directly engaged with the media at all levels to ensure that a diverse group of women is present in newsrooms, on air, in print and online, as sources and subjects.

Regardless of your field, learning how to present yourself on camera and in an interview situation is key to increasing your visibility and credibility. Stemming from our widely acclaimed Progressive Women's Voices training program -- which regularly receives 100-150 applications for each class of 10 -- The Women's Media Center has created a half-day media training that will teach the most challenging and sought-after media skill: interviewing for broadcast.

Our media trainers have over 20 years of experience that includes training hundreds of people, resulting in high-profile media hits at every major outlet, including The New York Times, CNN, NPR, People magazine, Business Week, the Today Show, the View, and thousands more. The 33 women we trained last year alone were in the media over 1200 times. The WMC's Emmy-winning President, Carol Jenkins, as well as other leading media experts will be teaching you the tricks of the trade and helping ensure that you deliver excellent information in the most compelling manner.
