Thanks so much to the Today Show, Marie Claire, and the many media outlets who have picked up this important piece, especially the Women's Media Center, where I published my first piece last year about my experience as a noncustodial mom.  There are over 2 million noncustodial moms in the US, and it is important that the media reflect our experiences honestly and constructively, just as we should support dads who are just as equally great caregivers!  Otherwise, what we are saying about dads as a society when we insist that moms should get the kids?

Every family is different, and custody decisions are very complex. As parents we make the best decisions we can with the best interests of our kids at heart:)  As a noncustodial mom, I know first-hand the challenges noncustodial parents face, and I hope that noncustodial moms and dads visit my NonCustodial Parent Community site, which is dedicated to sharing experiences, strategies, and solutions, to challenge biases about noncustodial parents, and to raise awareness about the issues families are facing every day.
