STOP STUPAK - WMC Radio Show Featuring Guests TERRY O'NEILL, KATE MICHELMAN AND SONIA OSSORIO
December 6, 2009
Tomorrow morning (Mon/Dec7) at 10amET, WMC President Jehmu Greene is hosting the Women's Media Center radio show, previewing for the next few weeks in preparation for a 2010 launch. The show airs from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. ET at 99.5 FM in New York and streams live at WBAI.org.
Our first show is focusing on health care reform and the efforts underway to ensure the Senate bill does include anti-choice Stupak restrictions. We are deeply concerned about the future for millions of women and outraged that health care reform became the vehicle for the government to take away a woman's right to choose. Women did not vote for this kind of change and we will not stand for it. How did this happen, who is responsible, and what can you do to stop Stupak?
Featuring guests Terry O'Neill, president of the National Organization for Women (NOW), Kate Michelman, notable political strategist and former President of NARAL, and Sonia Ossorio, President of NOW-NYC, our first show will be co-hosted by Barbara Glickstein, feminist radio host & producer for WBAI's Healthstyles for 25 years and a valued member of the WMC's Progressive Women's Voices program.
The show airs from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. ET at 99.5 FM in New York, streams live at WBAI.org and will be archived at WBAI.org for download to your MP3 player as a podcast. Join us!!
