Social Media: Changing the Conversation
January 10, 2010
This Monday morning WMC Radio will feature Progressive Women’s Voices alumnae Latoya Peterson, blogger for Racialicious, Jezebel and other sites, and Deanna Zandt, media technologist (who has a book coming out very soon!). We will also have as a guest our very own Girls Programming Coordinator Rachell Arteaga, for her first radio interview:) This incredible team of women will examine social media trends, pop culture conversations, and girls media programming as we begin a new decade, taking a look at Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, and the pop culture conversations happening on Racialicious, Jezebel and other sites. WMC President Jehmu Greene will host the show and bring in her experience as a youth organizer with co-host and producer Barbara Glickstein.
The program airs from 10-11amET on 99.5 FM in New York and streams live at WBAI.org. Afterwards it will be available on iTunes and on the WMC site for download. Comment here if you have thoughts or questions you’d like us to address!
