Progressive Women's Voices alums Ellen Bravo and Joanne Bamberger were featured on the MSNBC talk show, Melissa Harris Perry (hosted by Harris-Perry) this past Saturday, April 14, 2012, along with press secretary for Rick Santorum Alice Stewart. The subject of discussion was "women's work" and the media firestorm that erupted around Hilary Rosen's comments regarding Ann Romney.

Joanne Bamberger explained that "If everybody is going to have the choice [to work outside or inside the home] then we have to have the societal programs in place to be able to do that...you can't have it both ways like the Republicans are talking about it."

Ellen Bravo added, "The United States is one of four countries in the entire world where women don't have paid maternity leave. And as a result, half of women who give birth go back to work without having received a dime in income while they were out in leave."

Joanne and Ellen join in at the 4:31 mark.
