Miss Representation Campaign Director 6-Month Contract Position (with possibility of extension, based on success of campaign) Based in New York City Open Immediately
The Women’s Media Center (WMC) is a non-profit organization founded by Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem to amplify women’s voices and change the conversation in the media. In our first five years, the WMC has identified and created four strategic pathways to the participation and representation of women in all aspects of media:
1) promoting women as subjects and decision-makers within the media;
2) media training and leadership development to increase the number of women and girls who are media-ready and media-savvy;
3) creating new media and original content for both traditional and new media; and,
4) catalyzing a women’s media movement.
Women’s Media Center has partnered with the directors of the feature-length documentary film Miss Representation, to facilitate the distribution of the film and to create and conduct social outreach campaigns related to the film and its mission.
