Celebrating Choice & Announcing Winner of WMC Video Contest
| January 20, 2012
Sunday, January 22, 2012 marks the 39th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that decriminalized abortion throughout the country and has given generations of women the right to safe and legal reproductive choices. Anti-choice forces and politicians work every day to overturn this decision and to pass laws and regulations that make abortion harder to get. We are grateful to the courageous abortion providers who brave constant threats to ensure that women have a right to choose. A pro-choice president makes a difference and we hope that this new year brings more pro-choice voices and votes to the Congress. You can count on the Women’s Media Center to call out media coverage that misrepresents the facts on choice.
On this important day to celebrate choice, the Women’s Media Center is pleased to announce the winner of our In Your Own Words video contest that asked contestants to tell us what they think the future of feminism looks like.
Congratulations to Echo Zen for creating the winning video “Voicing A Feminist Future”! Click below to watch this great video about a pro-choice, pro-feminist future (and a good gender-neutral use of Lego’s!):
We love this video, and as it says, “It’s time to make your voice heard!”
On this anniversary of Roe v. Wade, please support the Women’s Media Center and help us amplify voices for choice.
President, Women’s Media Center
