Regina Cornwell

Regina Cornwell—long a dedicated New Yorker after a transplant from the Midwest—started in publishing when she discovered independent film and its connections to the visual arts. Other media and technology came next. This all resulted in a book, catalog essays, and articles in art magazines including Artforum, Art in America, Art Monthly, among others. Cornwell organized an innovative conference, The Culture of Interactivity in 1998. As a senior editor she introduced an art and culture section to Red Herring magazine. Her specialty in technology led to an interest in cities. In turn this meshed with culture. The precarious state of our planet brought her to focus on environmental subjects with a desire to influence and create change in how we see and behave in the world. She has received three awards for her writing.

Cornwell has an MA from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and a PhD from Northwestern University. Cornwell can be reached at rjcornwell@okraco.com.
