Cristina L. Azocar

Cristina L. Azocar is a member of the Upper Mattaponi Tribe and directs the Center for Integration and Improvement of Journalism at San Francisco State University, where she teaches classes on diversity in journalism. She is a member of the Women's Media Center board of directors and is past president of the Native American Journalists Association. Azocar clined the term the 4 R's of the journalism pipeline to define the focus of journalism education: Recruitment, Retention, Revitalization and Research.
