​Media Briefing on Surge of Women Running for Office

On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, the Freedom Forum Institute, in collaboration with the Women’s Media Center and Swanee Hunt Alternatives, will host a media briefing on the record number of women running for political office, and the intersection and impact of gender, race and politics.

Debbie Walsh, director of the Center for American Women and Politics at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers and a leading expert in the field, will present an analysis of women running for political office in 2018.

This briefing also will feature nonpartisan, Democratic and Republican experts on women candidates and political leadership, including:

  • Muthoni Wambu Kraal, EMILY’s List

  • Maria Teresa Kumar, Voto Latino

  • Rebecca Schuller, Winning for Women
